What we collect
- Outbound click logs. When you click a retailer link we record the page, product, position on the page, device type, country and a salted daily hash of your session so we can tell which guides are useful. We do not store your IP address or any name.
- Aggregate traffic analytics (pages viewed, referrers, device types), without cross-site tracking. Our own counter stores only daily totals per page, the referring site's domain, campaign tags from the link you followed and a screen-size bucket; it sets no cookie and keeps no identifier, IP address or per-visit record.
- Information you give us when you request help or a quote: ZIP code, phone, email if provided, and a description of the problem. We use it only to connect you with a contractor and to follow up on that request.
- The seasonal checklist email list, if you sign up: your email address, when you confirmed it, and the page you signed up from (plus a daily-salted hash of your connection, kept only to limit sign-up abuse). We use it to send about four seasonal emails a year, each with a one-click unsubscribe. The list is never sold, rented or shared.
Cookies
We set no advertising cookies. Google Analytics, which we use to understand which pages help people, sets first-party analytics cookies (such as _ga) with IP anonymization on; you can block them with a browser setting or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Our own page counter sets no cookies at all. One first-party cookie, dhl_sn, remembers for thirty days which HelpMeNow phone line to show you (a local line for your state when one exists, so your texts and their replies stay in one message thread); to pick it, your browser asks helpmenow.com once and no address or identifier is stored. Retailers we link to set their own cookies to credit a referral; those are governed by their policies.
Sharing
Lead details are shared with the screened local contractor assigned to your request, and with service providers that host our site and send our email. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
To have a request deleted or to ask what we hold about you, email info@helpmenow.com. We respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
